In this episode

In this episode I sit down with my friend and business mentor Brooke Hemingway, and I'll just be honest with you — meeting her about a year ago changed my life, and I don't say that lightly. Brooke is a mama of six, a former ICU nurse with degrees in health and wellness, who never imagined she'd become an entrepreneur, much less build a multiple seven-figure business while raising babies on an island in Kauai. Her story is really a story of doing the next right thing, surrendering to what she felt called to do, and being obedient to that call.

We get into what it actually takes to move from inspiration to action — Brooke's "ready, fire, aim" approach and why hesitation kills more dreams than anything else. We talk about that tender place so many of us live in, where we make decisions "by committee," worried about what everyone will think, and how freeing it is to remember the only committee that matters is you and God. And we go deeper into the inner work — the "spin cycle" that keeps women stuck, and why 90% of your success lives in your head and your heart, not in another course or system.

If you've ever felt out of alignment, or like you keep slipping back into the old version of you, this conversation is for you. We close with the two simple practices Brooke leans on to thrive: moving her body and creating stillness — and how both can start small. Keep going. I think you'll leave this one feeling seen.

Key takeaways

  • Shorten the gap between inspiration and action. Brooke built her business by taking 'messy, sloppy action' and trusting she'd be guided rather than waiting until she knew everything.
  • Stop making decisions by committee. When you're worried about what everyone will think, remember the only committee that matters is you and God.
  • Being a little polarizing is a sign you're on the right path. To attract the people you're meant to serve, you'll naturally repel some others — and that's okay.
  • 90% of your success in health, business, or relationships happens in your head and heart. More steps and systems won't help if your identity isn't congruent with the person you're becoming.
  • Heal the way you see, think, feel, and believe about yourself so you stop reverting back — the 'spin cycle' of getting motivated and then sliding back to the old you.
  • Alignment is whole-life: physical, emotional, spiritual, relational, and financial. A problem in one area quietly affects all the others.
  • To thrive, move your body and create stillness — and start small. Brooke's morning routine began as twenty minutes before it grew into something sacred.
Hesitation kills more dreams and more impact than anything. Decide to trust the inspiration and take action faster.
Stop making decisions by committee. The only committee is you and God.
You know you're moving in the right direction when you're a little bit polarizing.
Are we here to take action and not be acted upon — that's divine.
90% of your success, whether it's health or business or relationships, is what's happening between the head and the heart.

About Brooke

Business Mentor, Coach & Founder of the Align Event

Brooke Hemingway is a business mentor and coach, and a mama of six. A former ICU nurse with two degrees in health and wellness, she spent years living a traditional life before discovering entrepreneurship about a decade ago. Starting with no social media following while raising five young children on the island of Kauai, she built a multiple seven-figure business by leading sales teams and fell in love with helping women see their own gifts. Today she mentors women through inner healing and identity work and hosts her annual event, Align.
