In this episode
In this mini episode I'm taking a moment to share my attitude of gratitude with you. I did this last year and so many of you enjoyed it that I wanted to do it again — a chance to pause before the holidays and name the people and moments I'm thankful for. At the very top of my list is always my family. We just got back from a trip to Taos and Angel Fire, New Mexico with our two older kids, and being together with no one pulling us in different directions was truly incredible.
2024 has been a year of real growth for me, and growth has actually become the theme woven through my podcast interviews this year. I'm so grateful for the people who encouraged me to start my live podcast events — Conversations with Passion and Purpose. Launching those stretched me way outside my comfort zone, and I've learned how much I love watching women come together, connect, and learn from an amazing guest. Five events this year, and I'm so thankful for every woman who showed up, bought a ticket, or sponsored.
I'm also grateful I took time for myself this year through two retreats — one in Florida and one at the Bradford House in Oklahoma City — that genuinely replenished me. When you surround yourself with incredible people, incredible things happen. I'm already looking ahead to 2025 with five more live events and weekly guests, starting with Amanda McKinney on January 31. Thank you for being here with me. Happy Thanksgiving, friend — keep going.
Key takeaways
- Gratitude is worth scheduling — pausing to name what you're thankful for, family first, sets the tone for the whole season.
- Getting away with the people you love, free of distractions, can be one of the most replenishing things you do all year.
- Growth often lives just outside your comfort zone — Nancy launched live podcast events even though it wasn't something she'd done before, and discovered how much she loved it.
- Small, intentional gatherings give women space to network, connect, and learn from a guest who has something meaningful to offer.
- Taking time for yourself isn't selfish — retreats and rest replenish you so you can keep showing up.
- Surround yourself with incredible people and incredible things tend to happen.
- Spread your big commitments across the calendar — Nancy stacked two retreats in October and learned to pace herself for next year.
