In this episode

In this episode I'm back with week two of my summer mini series, and I'm talking about something I'm genuinely passionate about — your health. I truly believe health is wealth. When you feel good mentally, physically, and emotionally, you can actually go after what you're passionate and purposeful about. I'm calling this the health of your hustle, because that mind-body connection fuels everything.

I walk you through three incredible women who've been on the podcast and who each understand what it means to invest in their well-being: Ali Hansen of Bone Broth Bar, who healed herself through nutrition and now keeps up with a big, busy family; Leslie Holiday, who shared her faith and the daily habits that help her maximize performance; and Rachel Lambert of BrainCode Centers, who gave us seven powerful ways to reset your brain and regulate your nervous system.

Then I offer you a little self-audit you can do — broken into physical, mental, and emotional health — so you can check in honestly with where you are and where you can grow. When you prioritize your health, the setbacks don't knock you down so hard. You can learn, move on, and keep going. I appreciate you joining this conversation.

Key takeaways

  • Health is your whole well-being — mental, physical, and emotional — and that mind-body connection is what fuels your passion and helps you push through setbacks and self-doubt.
  • Ali Hansen's story is a reminder that healing often comes from listening to your body; she found her own miracle in bone broth and other whole-food habits, then built a business and keeps up with a big family.
  • Track your sleep and recovery in a way that works for you — Nancy and Leslie Holiday both use an Oura ring to monitor sleep, activity, and how well they rebound.
  • Rachel Lambert's seven ways to reset your brain: 7-9 hours of sleep, daily breath work, no alcohol, nootropic supplements, reduced screen time, time in nature, and neurofeedback.
  • Try the box breathing technique to lower stress: breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 4, breathe out for 4, hold for 4 — and repeat several times.
  • For physical health, aim to move every single day (Nancy's goal is 8,000-10,000 steps), eat whole nutrient-dense foods, and stay hydrated with clean electrolytes.
  • Protect your mental and emotional health by setting boundaries, saying no to what doesn't align, surrounding yourself with supportive people, and celebrating your wins big or small.

For me, I don't look at intensity anymore. For me, it's more about consistency — getting those steps in every single day.
Am I regularly checking in with how I feel, not just what I do?
